1991
life init
On a chilly saterday in march 1991 'Ewald Wilhelmus Verhoeven' got to surprise his parents for the very first time.
2008 - 2013
The search
After graduating high-school at the age of 17 a new era started in which Ewald would be shaped.
During these years
Ewald would struggle to find a carreer path to persue. He studied to become a primary school teacher, he went to business school
whilst working in his mothers (funeral) company as a hearse driver. Later he also went to become a carpenter.
2013
The army
After joining the Army, Ewald felt that for the first time since 2008 "the search" was over and he'd found a career path to persui.

2016
Test engineering
After being involved in an unfortunate incident resulting in several injuries, Ewald took time to reflect and later decided to leave the army. This time the search
only took about a year and a half.
Ewald executed his first (manual) test cases when working at a 'service desk' for a small software company. Test engineering and especially (test) automation seemed like the 'holy grail' and the chase began.
2017
Champion of champions
The year 2017 highlights Ewald's international musical carreer.
He'd been playing the scottish bagpipes since he was 10 years old
(because, obviously, it's a great skill to have for dutch kids).
This year he won many championships and prices competing in Scotland and Ireland with his pipe band from Glasgow (Lomond and Clyde).
This success naturaly resulted in winning
the (season) title 'Champion of Champions' including a promotion to grade 1 (the Champions leage for pipe bands).

2018 - forever
Family time
After a one year engagement, at the end of the summer of 2018 Ewald got married to his beautiful wife and love of his life: Ayla.
A little more then a year after the wedding
Ayla and Ewald got to welcome their first child: 'Norah'. In 2021 they leveled-up their family situation and got a brother and son 'Joep' and in 2024 the final addition to family was welcomed. A boy named 'Willem'.

2019
More code please!
Having a few years of experience with test engineering and automation under his belt, Ewald decided to take
it to the next level. He joined an expert (consultancy) company called 'TestCoders' (part of the 'Test Automation Group'), where he set on a journey to
learn more about the technical side of things like programming, test automation, CI/CD and 'how to get humans to do it'.
Working as a (test automation) consultant Ewald felt the need and responsibility to share 'lessons-learned' with anyone
who might find it usefull. Through speaking at (international) conferences and giving workshops he now reaches many more professionals
besides working with his (fulltime) clients.
