Cypress - From zero to hero
End-to-end testing is a very valuable practice because of the ability to simulate an end-users behaviour rather well. These tests can replace, improve and speed up the step that was before performed ‘manually’ before. In a short time you can gather enormous amounts of feedback and learn a lot about the current state of (functional) quality of a system.
To build these end-to-end (e2e) tests there are many different tools and frameworks available. In order to make it ‘good’ and effective it is very important that you are aware of certain pitfalls. Because unfortunately there are many! Learning how to avoid these pitfalls will make sure your team will not learn to ‘hate’ test automation and won’t experience it as a ‘must-do-chore’ that feels like it’s slowing you down instead of speeding up.
